As you all know, Operation Sawyer Sauce was a success. It took the careful coordination of our expert team of specialists… Friday night 07-05-13 the plan went into effect at 20:00. Grandma Anastas, code name Babcia came over to be ready for mommy and daddy to head to the hospital in the morning.

Everything went well and as much as we thought we knew what to expect, it still was completely different than the first time. We were relieved when Baby cried almost immediately after he came out (which was not the case with Maya). Meanwhile Babcia was reading a Mark Twain book in the waiting room (not Tom Sawyer). Baby stayed with mommy the whole time and took to breastfeeding like a pro the first time mommy held him. Babcia visited us in the PACU recovery area and again in our room.

In the evening I picked Maya up from Nobuko’s took her to the hospital to meet her new baby brother. She was pretty weirded out by him.

Thanks to everyone who made the plan work so well. The nannies Junko and Nobuko; Alex, Babcia and Samira for sleeping over to watch Maya while we were at the hospital then take her to the nanny in the morning. Not the mention Dr. Tsui and all the Cedars Nurses and staff.
