Our long journey home

It took a lot of breast-milk to get her home without too much haste during the long, delayed, boring, 6 hour flight home, but we did it.

Thanks Alex and Armine for picking us up at the airport. ..even though we know you did it for the Shin-Sen-Gumi! 😉

Look at those Rocks! Wow!!

…Sorry, I was just snooping around on Debbi’s iPhone and came across some great shots from Hawaii. Better late than never….

For the first time after growing up in Hawaii for 20+ years on O’ahu, Debbi finally made it to the first ancient site in Hawaii called the Sacred Kukaniloko Royal Hawaiian birthing stones. This location is where royal women were brought to give birth to the Ali’i chiefs? of O’ahu. Too late for Maya I guess? 😉

Ehhhhemmmm! Does someone want to tell her…

YOU HAVE A PIECE OF LETTUCE ON YOUR CHIN!

She really had no idea! We were like… “You have something right there… no there… a little to your left… Ahhh! never-mind”

That’s definitely Debbi’s half.

Finally made it to the Zoo!

…but it was a little too early for Maya. She had some fun petting the goats and watching the fish swim, but anything more than 20′ away she wasn’t interested in.

I caught mommy yawning! I guess she wasn’t that interested either?

We’ll try again in a couple years.

Yum! All natural Shave Ice!

This is a new place called Uncle Clays House of Pure Aloha or HOPA??? They have paper plates and compost able spoons. They also have a no sugar added flavor which doesn’t give you that sugar comatose After eating it like most shave ice with the high fructose corn syrup poison. 😉

Maya was not in the shot because she was taking the picture.

Zone of DESTRUCTION! Wahhhaaaahhaaa!

Unfortunately pop and Rose didn’t make it to Ono Hawaiian food restaurant, but we did have some excellent Hawaiian food from the club and Helena’s.

This is a typical meal with the baby. Keep a zone with a 1.2387′ radius free from her grasp of destruction. That zone is expanding at a rate of .00128′ per day. Pretty soon we won’t be able to go out to eat because the tables won’t be big enough. 🙂

More emails coming as soon as I have some time…

Honolulu Contemporary Art Museum – Tattoo Exhibit excuse

Mommy used the tattoo exhibit to get us all to go to the museum so she could see what she really wanted to see… The gift shop!

As usual she always needs to shop the same place twice… Once to buy the wrong thing, the second time to exchange for the right thing. This was the first visit when mommy bought the wrong thing. But we had fun playing under the palm trees in the shade.

We just went back yesterday to exchange. I just thought these were super cute shots of them both.

Rainy Manoa Falls

Another delayed newsletter, sorry…

BTW, Pop and Rose are already back in LA. We were having so much fun I didn’t get a chance to email these until now. 😉

This was actually our second attempt to go to Manoa Falls. The first time it was pouring rain. The second time we tried was also wet and rainy, but we suited up with some rain covers and just roughed it through the mud and slippery cliff edge trails.

We tried out our new hiking back-pack and the rain hood and screen. It worked very well. Maya was so fascinated by the tropical jungle that she hardly said a word for the long one and a half hour hike to the falls and back.

Will post more of these to the website when I get them. So check the website tomorrow.

Maya’s First Swimming Class

Maya has been taking infant “swimming” classes since we arrived from Mr
Jens from Hamburg Germany. They are not easy classes and Maya has to
unlearn a lot of instincts that have helped her for non-water applications
until now. The classes are called ISR (Infant Swimming Response). She cries
most of the lesson and she drinks a little more water than we’d like. Even
after all that, she still loves the water, whether it’s the beach, pool,
bath or shower. She is totally fascinated by it. She’s already able to
float on the water pretty well by herself.
