Maya kindergarten Graduation Rose Ceremony

This is Maya’s graduation Rose ceremony graduating from kindergarten. She will be entreating 1st grade next year.

Doesn’t her teacher on the left remind you of Eva!! Her name is Cindy Sydow and Ms Kojima on the right.

This is one of Maya’s best friends Koto.

The last picture is her seasonal table where they decorate throughout the year with little treasures they find.

Maya beeswax bearded man

Please ignore the date on this one. It was back in May. Just wanted to get it out there. 😉

One morning Maya decided to make a bearded man with her beeswax colors. Probably inspired by something she did at school.

Sawyer Baseball Practice

Seems like everyone is starting to get the hang of it. Take a look at the video of Sawyer at bat.

Anastas Trivia: did you know in 1993 Daddy had over .500 batting average in high school and played catcher and backup pitcher in his senior year. 😉

Maya, who put you in time-out??

Maya just did the funniest thing. I told her “Maya, it’s time for bath!” Then went in to her bedroom to get her. She said “no I’m in Time out”, so I said “oh…. Debbi did you put her in time out?” Debbi said “no”? Then maya started cracking up laughing. She didn’t want to take a bath so she said she put herself in time out. So funny.

Debbi’s friend’s son Trek just graduated from high school and since he’s a surfer, maya painted this picture of him surfing. Check out his chichis!! 😉

Last Friday Maya enjoyed playing with the baby chicks at Amy’s House. Amy also invited us to the push bike event for the kids on Sunday.

HanaKuso!! That means snot in Japanese

Yeah. That’s how I understand it. I was just trying to put it into context of my posting. Booger is just dried snot right!? 😉

So what is the …Kuso part of hanakuso mean? Since Hana is nose.

I warned Sawyer!! If he doesn’t get in the car WE’RE LEAVING WITHOUT HIM!!

You can see he thought it was funny at first until I got on the freeway!! 😉 haha Sawyer! Who has the last laugh!!! Hehheeee!!

…I kid! I kid!!!

In case you don’t know where that “ I kid” comes from, it’s comes from Triumph the insult comic dog from Conan O’Brian show. YouTube it. Funny stuff.

Seriously though… I think we got a comedian on our hands.

Magic Pirate Island FOUND!!! and Pirate Sawyer treasure buried successfully! …Don’t worry, we marked it with an X

We have been waiting patiently for 9 months for this moment. When the “super” low tide exposes a pathway to the magic pirate island out in the ocean. It finally happened! We woke up and got on the bike first thing in the morning (for us) and rode to the beach to discover the magical island and buried treasure… (well Sawyer actually buried it).

Ever wonder what is under the ocean off the cost. These amazing sand patterns. And some buried treasure of course. In case the X mark doesn’t work 😉 I took a picture with the tower in the background so we can find it in 9 months.

This was such a special occasion that even mommy managed to roll out of bed to join us this time.

How Maya finds her perfect outfit in the morning…

…Carefully set the ones you don’t like aside on the ground in a very clean organized and tidy pile!! 😉

The picture of Maya with her wonderful expression (she definitely gets that from mommy)… was from last weekend on the search for pirate island. I’ll tell you about it next email.

And finally a little daddy bragging… Daddy’s excellent math SKILLZ are rubbing off 🙂 . Mommy asked Maya to make sure there were 12 drinks in the fridge for their baseball practice tomorrow… AND MAYA STARTED COUNTING THE DRINKS IN TWOS! 2, 4, 6… :0 I could barely keep up with her 😉 …actually, maybe those skills are coming from mommy because I definitely wasn’t counting by twos when I just turned 6… 😉
