Thanks to one of their friends Nais from the homeschool group who’s dad Ivan helped us to learn. It was actually so easy for them to pick it up. They probably caught about 30-40 waves on their first day.
They already asked to go back every weekend from now on! Just great. 😉

Sawyer and the Mysterious Sting of Change…
We thought Sawyer got stung by some red ants when he was sleeping a couple nights ago. He got up early at about 5am and kept saying to me “it stings, it stings”. He handled it very well actually. We tried a few things, like ice pack, hot shower. But after we rubbed on some wheat germ oil that seemed to help it pretty quickly. It was only till his face swelled up the next day by the end of the day and after we found a centipede in the house that I realized it wasn’t ants that stung him!! :0 …OMG for sure!
…but if you cover half of his face he looks like his chinese friend Ethan from baseball. Makes you wonder what his friend is eating to make him that puffy all the time?? Hmmmm?
The unexpected chain reaction though, was he was embarrassed to go to his baseball practice because of how he looked. So after some talking, Maya and I helped him to muster up his courage and face his fears (a rare thing now days) and he eventually went off to baseball practice. What a great life challenge for him. I think he came out of the whole experience with much more self confidence. These small challenges in life are so valuable that lead up to when you need to face the big ones.
