San Diego Safari

We finally made it to the San Diego Safari Park. We’ve been reading about all these animals in books and they finally got a chance to see some of them in real life! …including rhinoceros, Tigers, lemurs, ducks, running cheetahs, gorillas, giraffes, etc. we had a lot of fun. I was pretty impressed with the kids. They were able to handle the whole day.

Thanks to Ramzy and Leslie for having us over for the night and spend time with the cousins.

I’ll send another email after this since I have more pictures.

Mary-go-round and weird train ride

She was probably bothered by how ridiculous it was to be on a train
circulating on a flat surfaced tight circle for no apparent reason.

and it wasn’t some lame sweatshirt, it was a cool-ass hoodie.

Mary-go-round and weird train ride

So, Debbi had to pick up some lame sweatshirt from gap kids store by the mall so we decided to go to Cheesecake Factory, yeahhhh! Not yeah… They apparently closed their old location and started up in the mall which was just not that good for some reason. Bummer…

After eating, the kids wanted to walk through the mall. So as we were walking to ride the Mary-go-round, Sawyer fixated on this mini train ride. We went to the carrousel and then came back to go the car. But Sawyer would not let the train ride go. So we decided to just tried it out. …One of those cheesy mall rides that you hope you will never have to do as a parent. …Well face your fears I guess…

The weirdest thing happened. About a couple rounds into the ride, Maya stuck her thumb in her mouth and became completely unresponsive. While Sawyer was still smiling and waving, Maya was un reachable. I tried to say her name over the period of about five laps and she was out of it.

When she finished the ride I wanted to see if she was ok and she just wanted to be held and was very clingy? Dare I say… this had to be something from a past life or something? Although my guess is that past lives are many many years ago and I doubt these trains were around then, but who knows. If you recall we just rode some trains a few weeks ago at Griffith park and I didn’t notice anything like this and this one was tiny.

Very curious what was going through her head. I asked her if she was ok and if she was scared and she said she was scared.

Overall we had a great time but unfortunately probably won’t be going back to that Cheesecake Factory any time soon.

Just to show you how well they take care of Debbi at her work! 🙂

…and so you don’t just have to look at a picture of a car, here are some of Maya and Sawyer climbing the fence in the front yard.

Maya and Sawyer’s first LA Museum at The Broad

I think this is Maya and Sawyer’s first museum trip in LA. We went to the newly opened broad museum in downtown LA after a month and half reservations.

It worked out because the museum is really only about one floor and we could get through it quickly.

While waiting for the infinity room of mirrors and lights, we walked to Grand Central Market for some delicious food. I’ll send those pictures next.

Glimpse of Sawyer’s future

This image while Sawyer was eating somehow makes him look older. I wonder if that will be what he looks like in 20+ years???
