We just saw a pretty amazing Taiwanese puppet show with the kids. One of the puppets was smoking a pipe with real smoke coming out. Have no idea how they did that. Very good. If they come to your town make sure to watch it.

Maya’s First Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) Treatment with Amy
Since Maya is now SIX YEARS OLD! She asked Amy (our nutritionist) if she can do her treatment by herself. Usually she tests them through me. But she said maya did really well.

Cherry Tomatoes Cheeks
Maya and Sawyer playing around with cherry tomatoes in their cheeks and another one of Maya’s beautiful thank you cards for her friend Madison for coming to her birthday tea party. Maybe she could be one of those Trader Joe’s card makers when she grows up. Those are really nice cards too.

Maya’s happy New Year Card
While in CA we stocked up on all the beautiful cards from Trader Joe’s.
They really are a beautiful selection and so cheap ($1). Over the many
weeks Maya and Sawyer randomly (and sometimes not), give the cards away to
friends and family… mostly randomly though.
I guess all the cards have made them really great at drawing beautiful
picture cards for people.
Take a look at some of the recent cards they have been drawing.
Enjoy!

Shinto Shrine Fortunes 2018
Every year it’s a Japanese tradition (and ours) to go to the temples and
get your fortune. I haven’t read all of them but what I read of mine seemed
pretty interesting. To know which fortune goes with whom, you look st the
shoes in the background.
If a fortune is not that good. You hang it on the tree and it blows the bad
fortune away. Something like that anyway??
Sawyer’s was “fairly good”. As opposed to excellent… I guess that’s not
good so I hung it up as high as I could. It’s the one tied at the top.

Silly Sawyer gummy face
Did you know that Sawyer’s name at school is silly Sawyer. Can you tell….
He stuck a gummy to his cheek and pretended like nothing was wrong. But as
you can see he couldn’t keep a straight face for long.
Oh. And I stuck his head in a lawnmower. Check out his new buzz haircut!
Would love to shave it bald for the heck of it! 😉 his head is getting big!

Koboji Fortune and Blessing
After the Shinto temple fortune we head to the Koboji Shingon Mission for
our blessing and to get another round of fortunes just in case we didn’t
like the first ones 😉
Koboji is Debbi’s main “church” / temple that they have grown up going to.
Happy 2018 Everyone! I have a feeling this one will be an interesting one.

Sawyer’s determination and a father’s patience…
Sawyer wanted to shoot the basketball today in the park next to the Shinto temple… meanwhile everyone was waiting in the car ready to go to the Koboji temple.
Sawyer’s determination and a father’s patience… Sounds easy but I think it was harder for me to be patient than it was for Sawyer to make the shot. I was tempted to try and help him like any parent would be… But waiting patiently on the side even practiced not moving the camera around …made for better cinematography. 😉
Btw. Normally I never say “yay” in these situations. It’s against our beliefs, specifically they start to try and complete the challenge to get the “yay” out of you rather than do it for themselves… But this was probably he first time I just couldn’t help myself.
This was really funny to me. Hope you all enjoy.
