When you are 5 and 6 years old how do you keep score of who wins when you are playing tic-tac-toe???

…ok. Really try to guess.

…here it is. …with Maya demonstrating the win. Apparently she won two out of three games.

I’ve never seen this before in my life… not that I’ve seen a lot, but you guys decide… If you look closely at the rainbow picture with the tall building in it, you’ll see that the rainbow is passing in front of the building and hitting the side of the road!! I looked to the side of the road before we got to the building and it was passing in front of the trees and plants on the side of the road. Pretty amazing.

The rainbow followed us for ten minutes while driving to the day care place for the kids. (They’re between summer fun and school now). It was very shallow. The earlier photos are with the rain, then the last ones were with the tall building.

This was a gift that grandma gave to Sawyer for his birthday. It needs a good amount of wind to get up in the sky but luckily that’s not a problem in hawaii.

It’s really such a poetic kite! A ship sailing through the air. Amazing idea. Look at some of these beautiful shots of the kids.

I blocked this mirror at the entrance to our house so that maya would not look at it. They say it makes the kids grow up too quickly and become too self conscious too early.

Maya decided to make some art out of it. She used her beeswax to put eyes, eye lashes and lips on the paper.

Maya and sawyer made fun by kissing her.

…”Tax is when someone takes a little bit of what you make”. Then Maya said “Sawyer is a tax, but instead of a little he’s a lot”. 😉

Just so it’s not just text… here are some images of Sawyer making a growling expression. DID YOU KNOW SAWYER IS 5 NOW! Can you believe it. His birthday was yesterday!

Mommy had some hesitation, but daddy said no turning back. It was probably long overdue.

I put them on display to make it clear that was it. Interestingly enough. Sawyer began waking me up at night to go with him to take a pee. So I can imagine he was waking at night too afraid to go by himself.

He has his sights on being able to go by himself. But I’m not going to push him into it. Whenever he’s ready.

Some nights when we get back late and they are already asleep before they can take their last pee, we slip on a diaper just in case. Don’t think that’s the best approach but it makes our lives easier for now.

Also some sailboat that maya made. Would be great to have some creek to test it out in though.

This was the kids first race and probably mommy’s too 😉 Guess what number I got… 2026. The magic number.

It was not easy. Sawyer’s side was hurting as you can see ;), he kept spurting ahead then getting distracted with the Jurassic Park bones and giant footprints while Maya and mommy passed daddy and Sawyer. It was the perfect tortoise and the hare story. Maya started later because she was getting her arm painted, but slow and steady won the race!

Maya managed to stay fashionable during he race. After the race Maya and Sawyer practiced their bike riding with the push bikes down the hill in this awesome setting.

The Easter island statue was a little fake to me, but I guess it was a prop from the Jurassic movie?
