We had Debbi’s birthday party at my moms house back on April 26th, (actual
birthday is the 28th).
Thanks to pop for making her favorite spaghetti, samira, mom and Alex for
helping… And daddy (Edward) for making the famous bunny rabbit cake
without dairy, but with gluten and raspberry and strawberry sauce (with mom
and Samira’s guidance of course). Thanks to roman and Joan for coming at
last minute.
Thanks to Junko for the beautiful flowers. We broke off some small purple
flowers and put them in our bathroom which lasted for more than two weeks
and brightened up our mornings and evenings every day.
Thanks to mom and dad (Connie and Dennis) for the birthday cake happy
birthday card that Maya and Sawyer love playing with. We always walk into
the room and see them dancing to the card open. π

She’s not as old as she looks…
This is such a great picture that Debbi took.
Debbi sent this picture to her parents and that was there comment… “She’s
growing up so fast”. I don’t know why, but in this picture she looks much
older. It’s the confident focused look I guess? but most pictures she
doesn’t look this old??? …never-the-less… worth sharing.
Enjoy!

This must be a boy thing?
… Sawyer climbing up on the play table. We were a little shocked when we saw him up there since we know he would have a tough time getting down by himself. …But then again, he’s really great at screaming at the top of his lungs when he wants something.

Desconso Gardens with Babcia for Easter Sunday
This is a bit delayed, but I wanted to get it in the blog.
We all spent Easter Sunday at Desconso Gardens in Montrose near Glendale with Babcia. We ate lunch at the cafe (although they had a really nice looking breakfast brunch for Easter in the garden that we’d love to try when the kids are older), we rode the tiny train, and saw the ducks.
I can only mail five pictures in the newsletter, but I’ll post a few more pictures online. So check back at the website address http://family.anastas.org and search for Easter.

Sawyer out cold
…on one of our “get out of the way while mommy gets dinner ready” walks.
Although we think he sleeps better at night when he doesn’t nap so close to bedtime. …good luck trying to keep him up though with daddy’s soothing talks about PRTs! … Go on, I dare you to ask me what a PRT is π

…and Maya’s Rock Star Side! ;)
Well, we’ve seen Maya’s Arabic side, her polish side, her Latin Chiquita banana side and now this is her Rock star side.
In case it’s not obvious enough, she’s taking after her idol Tina Turner, but there’s a little Janet Jackson in the last shot with the boobie action π
I’ve just been hired as her agent… So for show scheduling on her next tour call me and we’ll see if we can squeeze something in. π

Sawyer with a Teething Fever
Sawyer is already on his third pair of teeth. Four front bottom and two top, but this is his first teething fever. Maya went through this maybe three or four times maybe more. When the molars come in was pretty rough on her.
Even though he’s in pain I couldn’t resist taking this picture with a wet towel on his head that mommy put to keep him cool.
